Rearranging Rooms

In order to get ready for Surprise, we had to do some major rearranging and reorganizing. My mom had a conference in San Antonio earlier in the week so on their way home, my mom and dad stopped to lend us a hand.

First we had to get rid of a ton of stuff and put a bunch of stuff in storage. After getting some excess stuff out of the house, both of the nurseries needed to be painted. We are going to eventually paint every other room in the house, but those don't need to be finished quite yet. The triplets room used to be yellow but we are painting everything neutral so that needed to be fixed. So my dad and Jake cleared out all of the furniture in the guest room, which is going to be Surprise's room and moved all of the kid's cribs into the Master bedroom where the kids will be sleeping for the next few days. We are getting new carpet on Tuesday morning so it didn't make sense to move everything two or three times, so for the time being, the are camped out in Jake's and my room while we sleep on an extra mattress that will find it's way to storage on Wednesday. So needless to stay, our house is a bit of a mess and in quite a bit of disarray. After the carpet gets put in on Tuesday, we will be able to move everything back to it's new place, with some of the kids stuff moved to Surprise's room. Wish us luck!
The kids new sleeping arrangement, a little snug, but it works for now

This is going to be Suprise's part of the playroom, but right now it holds everything we own from the two rooms we worked on!

Thank Goodness it's Thursday!

So it's Thursday so that means it is almost the end of the weekend! Hooray! My mom is in San Antonio this week for a conference, so my Dad is driving down this week and we are going to hang out so reinforcements should be fun. This week has been super long and a little rough so I am so ready for the weekend. The kids have gone to one nap a day and so far it's gone pretty well. After lunch it gets a little hairy for about thirty minutes but I think that will get better the more they do it. We have been spending most of our time playing in the water. It has been so hot and for the first time in about two months, it finally rained last night. It was like a miracle. Jake and I just stood at the kitchen window staring like it was the first time we had ever seen it. We were just glad that we didn't have to drag the hose around the yard for a night! So, since nothing much exciting has been going on, I'll leave with some random pics of the kids that we've taken over the past week.

I think my baby is trying to kill me!

Seriously, this little "Surprise", is kicking my little tail! I thought for sure we were over the bad stuff, but Saturday, was by far one of my worst days yet. I had the worst headache and if I sat or stood up, I started throwing up. So after a long nap and some lunch, I finally was able to at least function. I keep telling myself that everyday is going to be a good one, and sometimes they are, but most days, I end up hugging the toilet and popping Tylenol like they're candy! Oh well, I know I'm complaining, but I have know doubt in my mind that it will all be worth it in the end. But, I would love to have a fun, normal, pregnancy where I feel good and people tell me I'm glowing. I don't glow, never have. I'm not really showing, I just look a little bigger than my normal self. But mostly, it looks like I've swallowed a softball when I lay down.

Jake and I had an awesome time at the concert on Saturday! It took us over three hours to get there (usually it takes about thirty minutes)because of traffic but we didn't miss anything and I loved it. They put on such a great show and our seats were awesome! Taylor Swift opened for them, too cute! I love her. All in all we had a great time. I got sick in the car a couple times before we got there and then once on the way home but I did pretty good at the concert. I had to sit down a couple times to make sure I didn't throw up all over the good people next to me, but overall I give the experience an A+! Here's some pics from our fun night!

Four years ago right now,

We were so halfway to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Oh how I would love to see our little villa and our personal concierge. How I long to just stick a white flag in the sand and have a little waiter with his tray, come running, desiring to fulfill my every whim! Oh to have my toes in the sand! Oh well, I guess when the kids and I play in the sprinkler today, I'll just imagine the spray is from the ocean and not a water hose. And I can think I can find some dirt to stick my toes in and think it's sand. C'mon imagination! As for the white flag, I don't think the kids are quite old enough to wait on me yet, although they have learned to pick their PJ's up and put them in a pile for me. It's a start I guess!

Well our anniversary was pretty low key. I made a new dinner, tuna noodle casserole. It was a huge hit. It was so easy and the kids and Jake and me all inhaled it! The kids didn't even drop one noodle on their bibs! Jake also surprised me with Rascal Flatts tickets for Saturday night, I will be an official concert goer! I'm so pumped. I have never been to a concert of any kind before so this will be a first for me! I know I'm twenty four and have never been to a concert, it's a bit sad. But all of that will change Saturday! Hooray! Jake's parents are coming down to watch the kids and we are going to dinner and then the concert it should be super fun! I'll be sure to take a ton of pictures. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Picture This!

So my mom is in Plano this week teaching a conference which works out great because Jake has to work late every night this week. So Monday, the kids and I load up and head up to meet my mom. I left a little early, thinking the kids would fall asleep as soon as we hit the highway. We had just spent over and hour playing and running in the sprinkler, and we were al exhausted. If they could have drove, I would have slept, but alas no one fell asleep. Huddy and Ella were too busy playing with each other to sleep and Carter dozed off for about ten minutes. So now they have missed their afternoon nap and they are beginning to get a little cranky. So about twenty minutes away from my mom's hotel the radio all the sudden cuts off. Huh, that's weird. Not two seconds later all the lights and the A/C go off. The car is still running, but nothing is on, very odd! I decide to get off the highway so I don't get mowed over on the Dallas North Tollway. We are a stop sign, then, all of the sudden, everything magically kicks on and will not kick off. I'm talking the lights, the blinkers, the windshield wipers, the radio, I mean EVERYTHING. Oh yeah, except the air. So now it is 103 degrees actual temperature and I have three cranky children with no air and a van that will only go 20 MPH. So needless to say, it was a little toasty in the old Town and Country. We finally make to my mom's hotel. I get the car unloaded and get the kids inside and we cool down. I moved the car seats over to my mom's car, luckily they all fit, and we headed off to the mall to get something to eat. After we ate, we took the kids to the play area and they played for quite a while and they did great. It was their first time in one of those and I wasn't sure if they would be overwhelmed or not. But they loved. So it was time for the mall to close so I call Jake and luckily he is just right down the road at the golf course. So we met him outside, moved the car seats over and finally headed home. We were all hot, sweaty, tired, messes and needed baths and beds! We got the car towed to a local body shop and basically, we need a new van. They replaced the alternator and some other things, but told us it's on its last leg and we should start looking for a new one. So we are going to pick it up today and hope that we can limp it along for a few more months. Wish us luck!

Here's a cute pic of the kids before water time the other day!

Happy Father's Day!

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day! Ours was pretty low key. Jake went and played golf Saturday with his friends and then we had 'Pappasito's' for dinner. So Saturday was kind of his day. Saturday night, Carter decided sleep was not an option. He was up all night and it was miserable. I was so tired by Sunday morning, that I threw up all day. Lovely. I finally started to feel better about two o' clock. I also lost the card that the kids and I made for Jake. Must have thrown it away when I was cleaning. Happy Father's Day Jake, yard work, a sick wife and no card! Hope you enjoyed it!

We did have a good time Saturday though. After Jake got home, we all put on our swim gear and headed out to the backyard. I turned on the sprinkler and all of us played for over an hour. We ate popscicles, ran through the water and played catch, we were all was exhausted! It was fun just to hang out with no work to do! Sunday, was so hot, that we didn't go outside, even for water time! It was 103 degrees actual temperature with not a cloud in the sky and not a drop of wind. So needless to say, me and the kids holed up in the house and stayed all day long! Jake braved the heat and did some yard work. Three sweaty shirts and a couple of beers later, the yard looks great and I think he had a good Father's Day!

So Happy Father's Day to you Jake, we love you very much!

Wet, Wild, Wedding Weekend Pt.2

So back to the weekend. After a long day of swimming, the kids ate a big snack and took a nap. Jake and I had an outdoor wedding at seven, for Jake's friends, that the kids didn't attend. So my parents kept them and got them ready for the reception that we were going to of a wedding for my friends that started at seven-thirty. So after the first wedding, we hung out for a little while and headed to my friends' reception. It was already after eight, which is the kids' bedtime, so I wasn't sure how they would do. They did awesome. First we ate and then we mingled. One of my good friends from high school married one of my good friends from college, so it was so much fun to see my whole group of friends. Half of them I hadn't seen since I was pregnant with the triplets, the other half I hadn't seen since the kids since they were about eight months old at another wedding. After the mingling, the music started and the dancing begin. The kids were little dancing machines. Miss Ella danced with my friend Anne all night and Huddy would run out on the dance floor shake around for a little bit and then run back to the side. Carter danced alot but stayed off to the side out of the spotlight. Finally at about eleven-thirty we loaded up the kids and headed home. They didn't get their PJ's on and in bed until almost midnight. They were little troopers. No meltdowns, no crying. they were basically perfect. We thought for sure they would let everybody sleep in, but nope, at six-fifteen, they were up and ready to roll. So we loaded up the car and headed home. We had a great time seeing everyone and can't wait for the next wedding!

18 Month Check-Up

Well the kids had their 18 month check-up at the doctor yesterday. Overall he said they are perfect. They aren't saying alot of words but they are very vocal so he isn't worried. He said they'll talk when they're ready. Developmentally, they are right where they are supposed to be. He said that we can start offering them potty chairs, so we'll see how that goes!

The boys are tall and skinny and Ella is just a big girl.
Hudson - 23 lb 8 oz (25%) 32" (50%) 18.75 (50%)
Ella - 26 lb 8 oz (90%) 31.5" (50%) 19.75 (90%)
Carter - 23 lb 10 oz (25%) 31.5" (50%) 19" (50%)
So as you can see, the boys are built a little more like me and Ella is built a little more athletic. That's what Dr. McGehee calls it! He's too kind!

Well we are off to find the perfect potty chairs and start to test them out. I don't expect anything to actually happen, but what's the harm in trying. So tonight before bath, we will have "Naked Potty Party Time!" Check back tomorrow for pics. I'm sure it will be interesting!

Wet, Wild, Wedding Weekend! Pt.1

Well our weekend was jam packed! We went up to Oklahoma on Friday. The trip was pretty terrible. When I go by myself, I usually leave a little after five am. Jake was going with me this time and we go a bit of a late start. We left just before six but apparently it was enough to screw up the normal drive. The kids didn't sleep at all, and a majority of the time, they were screaming. We finally got to my parents house at about ten 'o clock and the kids were glad to get out and run around. The kids finally went down for a nap and my Mom went to show us their new house, which is awesome by the way. We will have tons of space when they move in. Jake went to meet some of his friends and my mom and my Nanna and the kids and me decided to go grab a quick bite after they woke up from their nap. Well lunch was a disaster of epic proportions. We finally asked them to pack up our food and we brought it home because the children were very ill behaved. So after lunch we played some more and the kids took a nap and I went and got my haircut. After the lunch debacle, we decided to order dinner and we played some more and then the kids had their bath and then we all called it a night. Saturday, it was so nice outside, we decided to go outside and play. They go to play on their new play set they got for Christmas and their new bubble mowers my Mom got them, which they absolutely loved. After a good nap, and a big lunch, we decided it was time for a dip in the pool. The kids loved it. Hudson was a little nervous at first but then warmed up to the idea. Ella and Carter loved it from the start and splashed and kicked their little legs for over an hour. Here's some pics from our outside time.

Huddy and his bubble blower. How hilarious is he. He looks like a little old man just mowing his yard!
Sometimes we decided it was more fun to push it backwards. Either way, we love bubbles!

My Mom said I must explain the orange construction fence. They bought a new house and are getting ready to move so this is the temporary fence they put up, just when the kids are there to keep them away from the pool. We are always out there with them but it still hard to keep them coralled so the ghetto fence helps out. They aren't white trash, I promise!

Oh messy babies!

Well lasagna night turned out to be messier than ever before the other night, mostly just for Ella. Not quite sure why, but it was a disaster. Luckily, I had just washed their highchair covers and made the executive decision to leave them off of the seats because they just get messy again and really what's the point?! So we stripped them down like usual and let them have at it. The boys did good and were about there usual lasagna night messy selves. But holy crap Ella! I'm not exactly sure why, but tonight we decided that the lasagna would look fabulous in our hair. That's right, after every bite, our hands would go to our hair. She is really into brushing hair and has just discovered playing with mine which is a bit painful at times but oh well, she likes it. So after dinner it was straight to the sink for a good hose down and then on to the bath tub. We decided we couldn't wait until our normal bath time to get those little rats clean. Here's the proof!
"Just keep laughin' lady, do you remember your the one who cleans me up?!" - Huddy

"I figured it out mom, E= M C^2" - Ell channeling her inner Albert Einstein,
(seriously with the hair)

"Of course I'm the cleanest, what ever ends up on your face didn't make into your mouth" - Carter, our human garbage disposal

Well, Surprises and my doctor appointment went really well. I got to hear the little heartbeat for the first time. She just put the doppler on my belly and it was just beating away, pretty cool! I didn't gain any weight so I'm still holding strong at 125. I didn't get any medicine for my puking, but I did get some for my headaches that I've been having. I took two last night and today is the first time I have woke up without a headache since I found out I was pregnant. She hoping the headache medicine will take care of the throwing up. She thinks they're tension headaches. I told her I don't feel tense, but I guess I do have alot going on these days. Well Jake the kids and I are off to some weddings in OK this weekend. I'm so excited to see all my friends and they haven't seen the kids since they were about a month old so it should be alot of fun. Hopefully, I'll have a bunch of pics when we return on Monday! Have a safe and fun weekend everyone!

Long Overdue

OK, so it's been forever since I posted. Things have been super busy around here. First to the trips. They are all doing well and over their ear infections and back to their normal selves. We have been doing alot of playing outside, but it has to be done early in the morning. By about 10:30, it's already ninety degrees outside and their little faces just get so red and sweaty. So we usually spend the rest of the day inside and then go back outside in the evening when the sun is behind the trees. It's still hot, but at least the sun doesn't instantly scorch your skin. We have also been doing alot of playing in our new flower sprinkler. Huddy likes it sometimes and Ella and Carter love it all the time. Here's some pics from our outdoor fun time!

"Flowers that spin around and squirt are not OK in my book" - Huddy

"Is everyone looking at me?! OK, good!" - Ell being her usual vain self

"Holy Moly that's cold, but I like it!" - Carter man

We also tried Popsicles for the first time this past weekend. It did not go as well as I had thought. We are not quite old enough to know how to work the Flavor-Ice Popsicles. Lesson learned, on to plan "B".

"Holy crap Mom, why would you make me try that sour nastiness" -Huddy

"MMMMMMMMMMM" - Introducing Miss Ell, the big girl who will eat anything!

"I don't know what you fools are doing, this plastic is awesome!" - Carter

Surprise and I are doing well. I didn't throw up for two days and then, bam it came back worse than ever. We go back to the doctor tomorrow and I'm hoping she'll have some words of wisdom or some good drugs that will help me keep some food down. We're at fourteen weeks and I've only gained one pound so far so I know that's not the best but the little one is growing I can tell. When I lay down at night, you can see it just flipping and flopping all over the place. And when I woke up this morning, it was sticking straight out of the left side of my belly like I had swallowed a baseball! Too funny.

Also to update you on our friends Sam and Hollee. Their little ones, Beau, Lilly and Marlee, are doing well. They are all on ventilators but are doing exactly what is expected at this gestational age. Please keep them in your prayers, the next few weeks/months are going to be really long and hard on them! Thanks!

Prayer Request

Please remember our friends Sam and Hollee in your prayers. They delivered their triplets this morning at a little over thirty weeks. I know they would appreciate all your prayers for their new little ones. Thanks!
