On the Road Again!

Well tomorrow morning, bright and early, we are headed up to OK. This is the first time I have been home since September. I know it doesn't sound like a long time, but me and the kids usually go home once a month. In the time since we have been home last, my parents moved out of my childhood home and into their brand new one. It is way bigger and will be so much better when the whole family is their but it will be so weird not going to my old house! I'm really excited to see the new one though. Last time we were their the was only walls. Everyone has their own room now too so I think the sleeping will go better with everyone seperated.

The kids and I will be up in OK for twelve days, and Jake will be back and forth between TX and OK. I hope everyone has a very wonderful and Merry Christmas! I know we will! Happy Holidays!

Bundle Up!

So Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were cold enough that we were in need of hats and jackets. Luckily I had purchased some, mainly for our trips up to OK. The kids have never worn winter hats, so I thought we should practice On Tuesday night so we wouldn't have any meltdowns Wednesday morning on out way to school. I was taking all four kids by myself and didn't need any extra problems. Well needless to say, these kids now wish we lived in a colder state. They absolutely loved their hats and mittens. They ran around for about an hour after dinner and were so mad when they Had to take them off for baths. As soon as they woke up Wednesday morning, they started asking for their hats. Too bad it is going to b almost eighty for the next few days!

Here's some pics of the kids sporting their new hats and mittens for the first time!

We Survived!

Welp, we did it. I survived one whole day all by myself. The kids did pretty well. It got a little dicey before nap time and before Jake got home, but other than that, I think we'll do just fine. We did alot of playing and reading, and Charlie even joined in on the fun. It is below freezing for the second day in a row and we are getting a little cabin fever. We usually go somewhere everyday, and it is just to dang cold! It was eighty degrees on Sunday so we are ready for nice weather again! Here's some pics from yesterday when Charlie visited the playroom. This boy is going to have to get tough, fast, if he wants to survive around those three little monsters!
Lovin' on Charlie

This is a great indicator of how these to react to Charlie. Huddy gets overexcited and a little aggresive and Ella could really care less if he is around or not!

Flyin' Solo!

Well I am officially on my own for the first time today. My mom was here the first week and our Sister-in-Law was here last week. So wish us luck and we'll see how it goes.

We had a fun weekend around here. Jake's oldest brother and his three kids came down on Friday to pick up Brynn. The kids played like crazy on Friday night after dinner and were good and worn out for bedtime. On Saturday, we went to Grapevine to eat some Mexican food and walk around downtown to look at all the Christmas decorations. We shopped a little too and had a great time. Thanks for coming down Brad and Brynn, can't wait to see you in a couple weeks!

Here's some pics from Saturday.

Sunday, we took our second trip to Wal-Mart with all six of us. Think you get alot of funny looks with two year old triplets? Throw in a two week old baby and the sympathy stares and gasps come flooding out! I must say though, from the time we loaded up the car at our house until the time we loaded up at Wal-Mart, was only an hour. I think that's pretty darn good! I think I'll wait a little bit until I take all four by myself, I'm not that crazy!

Here's some pics from Sunday night.

Two year / Two week check-up

The kids had their two year check up at the doctor on Tuesday. Needless to say, it was not our best appointment. They freaked, totally! They wouldn't let the nurses weigh them or check how tall they were. Then one of our nurses tried to give Carter a pen to distract him and he threw it and it smoked Charlie right in the head! So all in all not our greatest showing. Even with the screwed up heights and weights, the boys are in the 50th percentile and Ella is in the 75th. So the doc was really pleased with that. The only check mark we didn't get, was having fifty words or more. We have a ton of words, just not all ones that you can understand! But overall, doc was really pleased.

Charlie also had his two week check up at the same time. He is doing great. He is back to his birth weight and gaining about an ounce a day, which is right where he is supposed to be. He, unlike his brothers and sister, laid pleasantly on the scale and laid very still so they could measure his height.

Here's some pics of the kids from this week! Hope everyone is having a good week!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

First of all, let me apologize for my serious lack of posting. We have been having major internet issues that are finally resolved!

I can't believe that these kids are TWO!! Even though there are some super slow days, time goes by so dang fast! We aren't doing anything for their birthday today, we did all that a couple weeks ago, before Charlie, when they got their gifts and we spent the day at the zoo. Anyone who knows these kids, knows how different they are so I thought I would share some of their favorite things with you!

"Hudson Robert"
The first born, does not act like the oldest in any way. Also answers to Huddy, Hud-Man, Hudster, or Hud. Loves any kind of ball and has an arm like a rocket! Loves to torment his brother and sister, whether it be with food or a toy. Loves cookies, quesidillas, bean burritos, and pizza! Loves school and fruit snacks which we affectionately call "Nute Naks!" Is a thumb-sucker, but only his left thumb, and only when we he is tired. Loves to cuddle especially when he is sleepy.

"Ella Jewel"
The second born, is the most dominant of the three. Will answer to Ell, Big E, Ellster, or Miss Ell. Is a book worm. Loves any and all books. Tells her brothers what to do at all times, and the seem to understand every word she says. Will eat anything and everything you put in front of her. Is very organized, even when eating. She eats one thing at a time, and takes one bite from each side of her sandwich in order to keep them even. She is my child! Loves to sleep, anytime for as long as you will let her.

"Carter Jacob"
The third born, and definitely the biggest loner of the group. Also known as Carter-Man, Tarter, Tarty, or Sweet Tart. Favorite book is the "Belly-Button Book" which is known as "Bee-Bo". Has the biggest appetite but only when he wants to eat. Will go on three or four day hunger strikes and then miraculously will eat enough for two grown men. Loves to hoard all his "Little People" and align everything on the window-sill, and totally melts down if anyone moves anything out of place.

They are so different, but work so well together, most of the time. Of course they still have fights like every brother and sister. They love each other and have a hard time functioning when one of them is gone. It is so much fun to watch them interact and know that they totally get each other in a way that even I will never be able to understand. Happy Birthday to my "Big Kids"! I love you very much!

Charlie is doing great. He is becoming much more alert and stays awake for an hour to an hour and a half after each feeding. He is sleeping in five to six hour stretches at a night which is totally unexpected and awesome. The doctor says he is doing great and we go in tomorrow for his two week check-up along with the triplets two year check-up. It should be CRAZY!!! Here's a pic of the big man! He is too cute if I do say so myself!

Angel Baby

OK, before I talk about Charlie, I have to wish Jake a very Happy 30th Birthday. It was yesterday and he kind of got the shaft. No sleeping in, no presents, no cards, nothing. We did carry out dinner from his favorite restaurant last night. To bad he had to eat by himself in the living room while my mom took care of the triplets and I fed Charlie! So Happy 30th Birthday Jake, we love you!

OK, so apparantly I gave birth to the most laid back, easiest baby ever (knock on wood). He is nursing every three hours during the day, and eating every four to five hours at night. The kicker is, we have to wake him up to feed him. I kid you not, this kid would sleep through the night if we would let him. We've been home for four days and it has gone much smoother than I could ever imagine. I hope to not be eating my words in three days crying about how he will never sleep, but so far, so good. The kids are adjusting really well. They all kiss and hug him and overall I think they like him. Here's some pics of the big man and how he spent his first weekend home!
