Destin or Bust!

That's right, Saturday at 4am, our little family of six is rolling out and starting a twelve hour drive to Destin, FL. We are driving straight through with a few stops, so it should be an interesting trip! I'm so excited. I've only been to the beach once, and that was on our honeymoon, and the kids have never been at all. I'm curious to see how they react to the sand and the ocean. All of Jake's brothers and their wives and kids, and Jake's parents are going too. So that's ten adults and eleven kids, six of whom are two and under. Should be fun!

The kids are doing great. We had their ENT checkup on Monday, and the doc said they could not look any more perfect. We go back in a year for a recheck to see if anyone needs theirs replaced. We haven't noticed a huge difference in Carter and Ella's speech which is fine. because they already talked really well. We have been able to see an awesome difference in Huddy's speech. He talks about a hundred times more than he used too. He still isn't as understandable as the other two, but he's getting there. They have also turned into bottomless pits. These dudes can eat, and I know it's only going to get worse! For breakfast yesterday, they each had three bowls of cereal, a banana and crackers. For lunch they had five Tyson dinosaur chicken nuggets, five carrots, three apple slice, some cheese, four slices of lunch meat and animal crackers for dessert. And to top it off, for dinner, they each had three helpings of Tuna Helper and Hominy. These active summer days are killers!

Here's some pics of the kiddos from our zoo trip this week!

Charlie is 6 months old!

Yes I realize this post is a little late since the Big Timer is almost seven months old, but better late than never. This dude is AWESOME!!! He has turned into such a little Momma's boy and I love it. The other kids weren't really attached to me until they were quite a bit older. I love how when someone else is holding him, he looks around the room for me and gets this big goofy grin on his face when he sees me. He is a grinny, happy gus I tell you. He is weighing in at 17 lbs which is smaller than I thought he would be, but he is in the 98th percentile for height, so he is still just long and skinny. He is wearing 9-12 month clothes and is finally filling them out in the body instead of just the length. He is army crawling all over the place. He can sit up, but would prefer to lean on me and play with his toys. He is still eating six and a half ounces of formula five times a day and four to five jars of 2nd baby foods. He sits at the table with us each night and eats Puffs of Cheerios. Here are Charlie baby's pics with his bear, along with the triplets' for comparison. I love the outfits the big kids were wearing in their bear pictures, but they are 3-6 month clothes so Charlie never got to wear them!

Charlie 5 Months

Charlie 6 months

Hudson 6 months

Ella 6 months

Carter 6 months

And this is what it looks like trying to get him to lay still and straight long enough for one picture. It is getting harder and harder each month!

Silly Faces for Huddy

Well I am minus one child for the weekend. My mom and dad are keeping Huddy for the next few days. So Jake, Carter, Ella, Charlie and I left Tulsa yesterday and left the Hudster to spend a few quality days with Yia-Yia and Pops. So far, he has had a blast, playing in the water, the sandbox, taking rides in the wagon, taking care of the flowers, and probably his favorite part of all, the whole bath tub to himself! Carter and Ella cry for him every once in a while, Carter even asked to put Huddy's pajamas on last night. Too cute! My parents are going to keep each one of them individually through out the summer. I'm just as excited for my mom and dad as I am for the kids. Just like Jake and I don't what it's like to have one child to play with and spoil, my parents haven't really had the typical grandparent/grandchild relationship with our kids so I think it's great for everyone. We do miss Huddy and hope he is having a great time on his own.

I asked the kids if they wanted to take a picture and send it to Hudson and they decided to make silly faces for him. We love you Huddy and miss you tons!

Adventures of the Potty Trained......starring

Miss Ella! That's right, we have one child in NO DIAPERS!!! I decided that last Saturday would be the official start of potty training. It only took me about 45 minutes to decide that there was no way to do them all at once. I just couldn't pay enough attention to them individually for them to get it. So I decided to pack it in for the day and try again Sunday, starting with just one child. Miss Ell seemed to be the most excited so I started with her. I'm proud to say, that come Monday afternoon, we are officially potty trained. She has done AWESOME!!! She wakes up dry after nap and every morning. She has only had two accidents and one of those was when she was standing at the potty and couldn't get her panties down. Other than that she has done terrific. Way easier, once I decided to train one at a time, than I ever expected. So one down, two to go. Carter is next, we start with him Saturday morning. Hudson is still a ways away from even caring so I will probably wait a while on him. I'm at my mom and dad's for a few days so no pics of Miss Ell and her potty time, but soon enough I promise! Have a good week!
